Google is all in black today to save some energy and save the bears for Earth Hour.
I can’t remember which website did this before, just putting a new style over the google website claiming that they were saving so much energy that way. Any idea?
Starting a new category here, because I keep stumbling upon crazy and beautiful covers of classics. Some people are against covers for valid and / or stupid reasons. But some of them are simply genious and give a new dimension of the song. This one is the kind of cover I really like. I discovered it yesterday, unfortunately (or not?) thanks to American Idol… I know, I plead guilty.
But anyway, here’s a very strong cover of the Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean” by Chris Cornell, who you might know from Soundgarden or Audioslave. He recently started his solo career and THIS IS THE SHIT, man… That’s what I call serious talent.
And anybody who might have a different opinion, I’ll just remove his comment. It’s my blog, and my censorship, hurra.
I’ve seen quite a buzz lately about this new band called Vampire Weekend. They seem to be everywhere on the web (especially on the blogosphere), I’ve heard their song in a commercial, they also performed SNL and the Dave Letterman show.
So I told myself, “hey why not check them out whenever they’re in SF?” — So, Ticketmaster me voilà, oh great they have 2 dates in a month at the Independent. and CRAP! they’re sold out! what?
For those who don’t know, the Independent is a relatively small venue, playing a lot of “independent” stuff. This place has always room for some more people, and is rarely full. Ok, that’s too bad, but a good sign. I have to listen to more of their songs. Here’s their current hit called A-Punk and I have to say: it fr$%^&ing rocks !!!
They come from New York and have a pretty strong African influence, along with an obvious Western influence, therefore describing their own genre as “”Upper West Side Soweto”. I hate defining music as genres usually but that one was pretty original.
Allez, à la demande générale d’Alex seulement, voici la dernière photo de moi prise pendant mes vacances. Me voilà déguisé en éponge, Victor, fils de Hub’ à ma gauche, un mec moche à ma droite.
